Wild horses have always roamed the hills and plains as far back into history as we can go. The stories of majestic equines covering the earth with such ease and grace is hardly uncommon. Somewhere along the way though, there's been a shift.
The story goes, according to many of the elders that still remain today, that a set of twins was born to a mare one cold night. One of the colts, Alpine, was a beautiful gray with kind eyes and a kinder heart. His brother was pitch black, later named Sirius. From the day of their birth, it was obvious to all others that the two colts were very different. While Alpine was generous and respectful, Sirius was arrogant and selfish. When Alpine would help in any way he could, Sirius would bully the younger foals in his herd.
It was a mystery as to why the two were so different, raised identical and born to the same mother at the same time. Over time, the colts grew and they moved away from their herds. Alpine settled his own band of horses among the plains, a small group of sweet horses with hearts of gold that matched his.
Sirius, however, moved to the mountains and kept only a few mares with him whose hearts were as black and shallow as his.
In that day, everything changed. The brothers had grown to dislike each other and everything they stood for. And after time, the dislike grew stronger, and larger.
A line had been drawn down the area, separating the darks from the lights. A select few horses who had been alive and in territories before the split remained together and refused to choose a side, later becoming the neutrals.
Now, with random acts of violence, it is still shown that the hate is still rather strong and not seeming to fade. Whispers have been spread about a great war coming together, one that's been in the making for quite some time.
Will you stand and fight?
